How many stops, and can you make it one fewer?

Put in the race length, your lap time and your fuel numbers, and this works out your stints and stops — plus the bit that actually wins endurance races: exactly how much fuel you'd have to save to drop a stop, and how close you are to being forced into an extra one.

How the stop count works. A stint is limited by whichever runs out first — fuel or tyres. Laps per stint is whole laps on a usable tank (capacity minus your reserve), so stops only change when that whole number changes. That's why the fuel-saving target is often much closer than it feels: shaving a few hundredths per lap can be worth a whole pit stop, or nothing at all.

Timed races assume you take the flag and complete the lap you're on, so the lap count is rounded up. Fuel figures include your reserve, so the tank should still have that much left when you cross the line.
